“Mal Di Te”, a tribute to Pino Daniele, and ‘The Cinema Show Quartet’, Jazz & Movies.

The Saxophone Museum in Fiumicino will host Saturday 6th July at 9:00 pm a special tribute to the great Pino Daniele and his hometown, Naples. The musical project “Mal Di Te”, curated by Giulia Maglione, will explore the musical legacy left by the artist through a unique performance. The Iesaino’ Band, composed of Andrea Panzera on guitar, Umberto de Santis on double bass, Andrea Borrelli on percussion and drums, will accompany Maurizio Yorck, narrator of the show. Yorck will share anecdotes and curiosities about Pino Daniele’s career, thus enriching the musical experience with an immersion in Neapolitan culture. The repertoire will include a selection of songs that mix blues, jazz, funk and Neapolitan music, capturing the soul of the city and celebrating universal themes such as love and urban life. Original songs by Pino Daniele will be performed, from his early albums such as “Terra mia” and “Nero a metà” to iconic hits such as “Napul’è”. The event will culminate in respectful reinterpretations of the classics, celebrating the musical legacy of one of Italy’s most beloved artists.

Sunday 7th July at 9:30 p.m., the Museo del Saxofono will offer a concert dedicated to music in cinema with The Cinema Show Quartet. This free event is part of the Jazz & Movies festival, promoted by the Fiumicino City Administration to promote Italian musical genius in the fascinating context of the seventh art. The Cinema Show Quartet, led by the masterful arrangements of Paolo Bernardi, will explore the soundtracks of great Italian authors such as Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Stelvio Cipriani and Armando Trovajoli. These composers have helped define Italian cinema since the golden age of the ’60s and ’70s, collaborating with directors such as Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Sergio Leone and Giuseppe Tornatore.
