Operation “Drug Market”, drug dealing just a click away on the Rome-Pescara axis. The financial police of the Adriatic capital are in action. Rivers of drugs sold on social media: 5 arrests and 4 house arrests

The Guardia di Finanza of Pescara has completed the operation “Drug Market”, discovering the presence of a price list and photos of the goods for the sale of narcotics via social media. There are 5 traffickers arrested and 4 orders of residence executed for having managed a drug dealing ring with online orders and deliveries on the Rome-Pescara axis. The restrictive measures were carried out by the yellow flames of the provincial command of the Adriatic capital, with the help of the aircraft of the Naval Air Operations Department, since the first light of dawn.

The investigations began in 2022, with coordination in the direction between the Pescara Prosecutor’s Office and the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office of L’Aquila, and made it possible to reconstruct the movements of the network of drug dealers who, coordinated by the direction of a single family unit, had set up a profitable online market for the pre-sale of drugs. The drugs, accompanied by price lists, were advertised on the main social channels with posts and photographs.

This method of sale and purchase allowed the sale of cocaine, hashish and marijuana to users who, by connecting to specific invitation links, could place orders, make appointments and collect goods 24 hours a day. Among the most active pushers and those dedicated to supplying the “circle” there was also a minor, who ended up in handcuffs, and some individuals already detained who managed to bring the drugs into the prison, taking advantage of visits from relatives. Over 45 kg of narcotic substance sold were documented, for an illicit turnover of over one million euros.

In collaboration with the penitentiary police, seizures were also made in flagrante delicto, for a total of 6 kg of hashish, 20 grams of cocaine and over 2,000 euros in cash. Numerous searches were carried out on people involved in various capacities and several arrests were made against buyers, in confirmation of the illicit activity. The consumers were reported to the prefectural authority.
