The story of Gerardo, a student from Cerignola, between inclusion and example
Gerardo is a young student affected by down syndrome and autism spectrum. His story is a demonstration of how inclusion and the alliance between school and family can lead to exceptional results. The student completed his school career at the Scientific and Sports High School “A. Einstein”” from Cerignola.

The young fellow citizen, supported by dedicated educators such as Nadia Dangelo and Rosa Cascella, overcame every obstacle, becoming for each of us a model of perseverance and willpower.

Il Municipality of Cerignolarepresented by the Deputy Mayor Maria Dibisceglia and from the city councilor Mariarosaria Divito, shared the emotion of this moment with Gerardo’s family, teachers and classmates.

The touching words of Gerardo’s mother, Mrs. Alba, testify to the long journey of love and dedication that led him to reach this important milestone.

Deputy Mayor Maria Dibisceglia commented as follows: “Gerardo’s story is a shining example of how inclusion can enrich the entire community, and the Municipality of Cerignola will continue to work to highlight examples like the one we have witnessed: training, education, growth, are essential elements to create inclusion. A concrete example, which I underline and which truly represents what inclusion means is certainly that of 5F, in which everyone, classmates and teachers, have declined activities and experiences with and for Gerardo”.
