“We focus on phenomena related to the carrying out a number of activitiesespecially in the sector tourism, hotel and hospitality – says the Provincial Commander, Alessandro Coscarelli – and those that can be prevention activities ofinfiltration of criminal organizations in the same territory. The greatest risk could be the reinvestment of illicit capital in commercial activities, thus leading to an inequality as regards the regularity of the commercial activities market, thus causing economic and consequently social inequality”.
Among the many interventions, there are 7 reports regarding money laundering and self-laundering with illicit operations for over 31 million and 500 thousand euros and proposed seizure of assets for over 30 million; 315 suspicious financial flows are being investigated; 214 people subject to asset checks for the regulation anti-mafia with seizure or confiscation measures for over 35 million. 103 reports for tax crimes and seized assets for over 10 million and 500 thousand euros and seizure proposals for 63 million; 48 total tax evaders discovered.
In the context of the protection of public spending, the work of control stands out on projects and investments financed with PNRR resources: 301 verification interventions on the correct use by citizens and businesses of financing or tax credits, reaching the figure of over 258 million euros for fraud with 70 people reported. The Commander of the Naval Air Operations Department, Pietro Spanò, details an intense operation, which saw 1444 maritime patrol missions and 320 flight missions with checks on 861 commercial vehiclesfrom fishing and recreational boating for 313 violations.
