Great success for the ‘Bicipolitania’ project promoted by the Municipality of Forlì, which among the initiatives proposes a prize-reimbursement for those who use the bicycle for the home-work journey. From the moment of its launch, last April, to 20 June 2024, the project has gathered 950 participants, a number that has led the Municipality to extend the initiative until 30 September.
The expected incentive is 20 euro cents per kilometer traveled from home to work and vice versa, with a maximum ceiling of 50 euros per month and a recognizable total of 250 euros per person. The journey will be calculated by a specific application, with a daily minimum of 1.5 kilometers, valid only using your own bicycle. With more than 500 thousand kilometers cycled in three months so far, the people of Forlì have responded present to the project and almost three hundred participants have reached the maximum that can be paid.
“In light of the great enthusiasm that this project has aroused among the people of Forlì, we have decided to continue – explains Councilor Giuseppe Petetta – with the provision of a contribution, in the form of a reimbursement, for those who choose to use the bike to go to work, until September 30, 2024”. He then concludes: “This initiative is part of a larger plan in terms of cycling in the territory contained within “Bicipolitania Forlì”, aimed at increasingly promoting the use of bicycles for urban travel”.
