A 25-year-old woman died in Fasano, in the province of Brindisi, after falling into an elevator shaft in a building on Via Piave.
The victim, who was on the fourth floor, asked for the elevator but after opening the door she fell into the void, as according to an initial reconstruction, the cabin would not have risen. The firefighters are on site to recover the young woman’s body.
The victim is called Clelia Ditano. The Carabinieri of the Fasano company are also on site and are making surveys to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident. The building where the accident occurred is owned by Arca (regional agency for housing and living) Nord Salento.
It was the parents of 25-year-old Clelia Ditano, who died after falling into the elevator shaft in an apartment building in Fasano, who raised the alarm a few minutes after 6 this morning, worried because their daughter had not returned home.
Also because of these elements, the carabinieri of the Fasano company who are conducting the investigation are verifying the possibility that the accident could have occurred during the night. From what we understand, the girl would have returned to the apartment to leave some personal effects, to go down again perhaps because she had forgotten something.
And in these seconds the accident would have occurred with the 25-year-old falling into the void. For hours the firefighters worked in the building on Via Piave to recover the body. Spesal personnel were also on site.
