He is retired from today (July 1st) Fausto Trivelladirector of the facility since 2009 ophthalmology from Lucca and known nationally and internationally in particular for his work on ocular pathologies, surgery of the eyelid orbit and the lacrimal ducts.

The management of the North West Tuscany Health Authority and that of the Lucca hospital facility thank him for “the commitment he has shown over the years in an important role, working with competence, commitment and humanity and coordinating the development of a competent and professional work group”. Trivella also deserves the gratitude and thanks of all colleaguesmany of whom greeted him with affection during a convivial event on Saturday 28 June at the San Luca hospital, highlighting his competence and his human qualities.

Trivella also thanked those present and all those who were important for his “life as a doctor” which began in Careggi. He said he had grown a lot over the years in Lucca, even from a human point of view.and to hope that the structure he has directed since 2009 will maintain the very high level achieved in the future, thanks to the commitment of the entire team.

Graduated in medicine and surgery at the University of Pisa in 1984, he specialized in ophthalmology at the same university. He was then Fellowship for plastic surgery of the orbito-palpebral and lacrimal ducts at the Foch Hospital in Paris under the direction of Professor Tessier and Dr. Krastinova. Over the years, he has collaborated with the neurosurgery unit of the Careggi hospital in Florence, with the pediatric neurosurgery unit of the Meyer hospital in Florence and with the plastic and maxillofacial surgery unit of the University of Florence. He was also a consultant in the infectious diseases unit of the Careggi hospital, as well as head of the plastic surgery service of the orbito-palpebral and lacrimal ducts in the optics physiopathology unit of Florence and of the ophthalmic surgery unit at the hospital in Pisa.

Since 2009 he has been the director of the Lucca ophthalmology operating unit, first within the Azienda Usl 2 and then, since 2016, of the Azienda Usl Toscana nord ovest. He is the author of many national and international scientific publications. His humanitarian commitment is also important, in the many missions abroad, the last of which just a few weeks ago. To Dr. Trivella, together with thanks for the work carried out, also the wish from the Company of “much serenity for the years to come”.
