The celebratory show by the Compagnia Studio Danza was performed last night at the Teatro Politeama in Catanzaro entitled “Dance, the original form of being” with the artistic direction of Gyula Molnár, the renowned Hungarian Maestro who has been artistically training young Calabrians and others for 30 years and who recently won the overall title of “Best choreography” in the international competition Barcellona Dance Award 2024.

Choreographies by Carmen D’Angelo for the classic, Giordano Novielli for the contemporary, Marvin Vozza and Stefano Ferraro per l’hip hop.

The show, celebrating the 30 years of activity of the School, also saw the participation of former students:
students who have made dance their profession, students who continue to carry dance in their hearts and students whose lifeblood will always be dance and who today collaborate with the School itself.

On stage, as usual, Compagnia Studio Danza brought a ballet from the classical repertoire, “Don Quixote” – with music by Minkus – which saw the students Sara Citriniti and Giulia Daniele as soloists and which enchanted the theatre with its costumes created by the stylist Verusca de Noia.
In addition to the skill and friendliness of the little ones, the notable choreography of Maestro Gyula Molnar “American Suite” with music by Antonín Dvorák which saw the advanced courses of the School and “My Fair Lady” taken from the famous musical comedy.

Best wishes for the thirtieth anniversary arrived from Moscow, via video message, from the Director Larisa Ledyah of the Russian Institute of Choreographic Arts, which has collaborated in the past with the Catanzaro School in the staging of the repertoire ballet “La Bayadere” performed by Russian students and students of Compagnia Studio Danza. An experience that then culminated with an intercultural exchange between the two schools.

A show that stood out not only for the beauty of the choreography and the skill of the students, but also for the emotions given to the audience that expressed all its warmth with vast participation.

Compagnia Studio Danza does not stop, in a few hours leaving for Budapest to participate in the Intensive Summer Course, at the school of the Budapest Opera House which will see its students engaged in seven hours of daily study in the classes of classical, pointe technique, repertoire, physiotechnics and character dances.
Always ready to guarantee their students international experiences.
