Taglieri (M5S) and Paolucci (Pd): ASL workers victims of the terrible health management of the center-right which wants to implement plans to return from tears and blood

About forty of the approximately 70 employees who work for two private companies – Dussman holds the main contract, Auriga has had the subcontract – gathered in front of the headquarters of the general management of the ASL in Chieti for a picket, after the health company communicated to the companies that it will cut 50 percent of the hours of the service, from 1400 to 740 per week, a cut that should have been implemented starting today and will probably be implemented starting August 1st. The workers are employed on a part-time contract and with the reduction in hours the pay cut would be very heavy. In the late morning a delegation from Filcams Cgil Chieti, composed of the secretary Elena Zanola and three workers’ representatives, was received by the administrative director, Giampaolo Grippa, and at the end of the meeting Filcams Cgil Chieti, together with the workers who started the picket, decided to suspend the state of agitation. The decision, Filcams Cgil says, “was taken because the constructive dialogue that began in the prefecture on June 14, which was interrupted with the sending of letters of drastic reduction of employment contracts to workers, has finally restarted”. A new meeting with the administrative director has already been scheduled for July 8 at 4:00 p.m. “to continue the detailed analysis of the service and find solutions to ensure that the reorganization and streamlining of the service do not cause a social drama for people and damage to the public service provided by workers”.
“ASL workers are the first to pay the bad management of the center-right-led health system, which has forced the Abruzzo Local Health Authorities to make blood, sweat and tears recovery plans to fill the enormous million-dollar hole recorded by the Health Authorities in the last quarter of 2023, and which will worsen in 2024. The lack of planning and the inability to manage public resources translates, once again, into cuts to services for citizens and precariousness and layoffs for workers in the sector. Today we participated with conviction in the strike called by the trade unions, reiterating that users and workers and citizens cannot be the ones to pay for the inability of those who govern the Region and that we will commit to bringing the case to the attention of the Regional Council” thus the Group Leader of the Democratic Party Silvio Paolucci and the Group Leader of the 5 Star Movement Francesco Taglieri.
