ANCONA – The “Del Conero” stadium gathered a crowd of over 2 thousand people for the first edition of the “Derby – Ancona football festival”the event dedicated to youth football in Ancona organized by the sports club Gls Dorica Torrette from Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 June. «The Municipality of Ancona strongly wanted the Derby – Festa del calcio anconitano – explains the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Sport Giovanni Zinni – because we have a wonderful football industry made up of many sports clubs that operate in football schools and in the first teams. Despite this difficult moment for football in Ancona, we are convinced that it was right to valorize the technicians, managers, athletes and staff of all the sports clubs that operate daily doing a great job».

In front of a large audience in the stands of the “Del Conero”, Around 500 young athletes were awarded prizes during the event. For each club, a management figure was identified who stood out for his commitment to the youth football sector, who was awarded institutional recognition. For the US Ancona club, the Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Sport Giovanni Zinni awarded the youth sector manager Leonardo Scodanibbio. For the AC Nuova Folgore club the president Alessandro Gambini was awarded by the journalist Maurizio Socci, for Ancona Respect the manager Veronica Antonucci was awarded by the regional councilor Marco Ausili, for the CRAL Angelini Ancona the coach Stefano Zazzarini was awarded by the City Councilor Francesca Bonfigli, for FC Vallemiano the president Floriano Fiatti was awarded by the City Councilor Silvia Fattorini and for Giovane Ancona Calcio the coach Mirco Gambini was awarded by the provincial Fair Play delegate Giorgio Sartini.

Journalist Paolo Giampaoli awarded coach Gianfranco Paolini for the Gls Dorica AN.UR Ancona club, president and manager Susanna Mari of Junior Calcio Ancona ASD and for Portuali Calcio Dorica manager Marcello Pennica. President Bruno Buffarini of Polisportiva Candia Baraccola Aspio was awarded by CONI Marche president Fabio Luna and finally for Ponterosso Calcio the youth sector technical manager and cadet coach Olivio Tittarelli was awarded by Regional Councilor Marco Ausili. In addition to those mentioned, the Atletico Ancona, Piano San Lazzaro, Ankon Dorica, Colle 2006 and Nuova Aquila (with their first teams) also participated in the final derby, and each was awarded a cup during the final award ceremony on Sunday evening.

“Ancona football is healthy and this is demonstrated by the hundreds of kids who participated in the derby – concludes Zinni – because it was a derby, but also a celebration for all the teams of Ancona who are committed daily to the growth, human and sporting, of adults and children and who are linked by an ancient friendship that goes beyond the pitch”. There were many initiatives alongside the sporting event, such as the popular presentation of the books ‘Voglio fare la calciatrice’ by Francesca Gargiulo and Gaia Missaglia and ‘Anconetani di serie A’, written by Franco Lorenzini and Sergio Dubbini with the stories of the footballers born in the shadow of Guasco and capable of dreaming so big as to reach the top of the Italian football pyramid. The event was promoted thanks to the contribution and patronage of the Municipality of Ancona and the collaboration of the Legislative Assembly of the Marche, Coni Marche, Figc Marche and the youth and school sector of the Football Federation.
