Earthquake in the M5S, Marco Degli Angeli leaves office

Marco degli Angeli has resigned from his role as coordinator of the 5 Star Movement for the province of Cremona, which he had held since 2023. The regional councilor from Crema in the previous legislature does not agree with the so-called broad field that is emerging with evidence of dialogue between the Movement and the Democratic Party, already clearly evident on civil rights but also on labor issues.

Degli Angeli is a five-star member of the first hour, very active in the five years of the regional council, on all fronts of opposition to the centre-right – but also to the centre-left -, with harsh interventions on health policy and against new road infrastructures.

He chose to withdraw through a long post on Facebook in which he explains that he “has never been in tune with the line adopted in recent years that has led us – it reads – to contradictory alliances in the territories in the name of a failed progressive camp. You know it. I have always contested the methods, the objectives and the strategy”.
Also critical for what political activity is becoming:
“On the one hand – he adds – there is more and more individualism and little culture of the common thing, on the other a political class that is so disgusting that it distances people from politics itself. It is not only necessary to be honest. It is also necessary to be courageous and clear in positions, and not continue to navigate in the middle for fear of making mistakes”.

The post sparked a flurry of reactions, many of them in defense of Conte’s actions.

Just in recent days, the provincial secretary of the Democratic Party, Vittore Soldo, announced his intention to resign, although not immediately, to encourage, he explained, a renewal of the centre-left, also citing – among other things – the need to continue along the path traced by Conte and Schlein. gbiagi
