Inaugurated this morning the Flumini Temporary Station Command. This is the return of an important reality in support of public safety in the extra-urban area of Quartu Sant’Elena. The reopening ceremony saw the participation of the councilor of the Municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena with responsibility for Flumini and extra-urban territories, Tiziana Cogoniwho handed over the keys to the Chief Marshal Stefano Paiswho will take on the delicate role of Station Commander.
This garrison, inaugurated for the first time in the summer of 2002 and active continuously until 2022, is a seasonal department under the control of the Quartu Sant’Elena Carabinieri Company and which will be able to count on the presence of 7 soldiers, whose service will be dedicated, 24 hours a day, to the Fluminese territory.
The initiative, strongly supported by the Carabinieri and made possible by the local administration, responds to the need for more widespread control of the extra-urban area of Quartu, which during the summer season sees a significant increase in population. It is estimated that, with the arrival of tourists, the area will host almost one hundred thousand people.not counting those who travel on the busy road that connects Cagliari to Villasimius and the many who reach the numerous beaches in the area.
After a period of closure due to the inadequacy of the premises, the new Station Command is back in operation thanks to important renovation works promoted by the Municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena. The Temporary Station Command of Flumini will remain active until September 10 and will be open to the public every day from 10:00 to 18:00.
