City basketball is the protagonist at Piazza con Vista, hosted by Simona Sassetti. Present in the studio are the presidents and managers of the three basketball clubs, Mens Sana Basketball, Costone and Virtus Siena.
“The balance is very positive – said the president of Mens Sana Francesco Frati – we started with the goal of consolidating ourselves as a club and creating an environment to bring fans back to the arena, and we succeeded. The club has strengthened over time by creating the conditions for the boys on the field, all under 30 with no experience in the higher categories, to give their all. We bet on the passion and sense of belonging of boys with a background in youth teams who brought the spirit, and the new ones have adapted to reality. The relationship with the fans is the greatest success” Frati declares with pride.
The new season: “Now we are working on the driving force of this year to be protagonists again, at the moment we are forced to work on two tracks. We have asked the Federation for the availability to take advantage of a repechage if there was the possibility, we do not know if we will be able to register for C or B, in any case we are building a team that can be protagonist in C or ready for B” assures the president of the green and whites.
The sponsor front: “The large numbers of the playoffs in terms of spectators have allowed us to gather again partners who are willing to invest in the Mens Sana project, such as the main sponsor Note di Siena. In recent weeks we have expanded our commercial collaborators, we want to build a strong team by facing higher costs in the event of B”.
The arena question: “I thank the Municipality, we were able to schedule the work during the summer, it started immediately after the end of the season, we will be able to have the central field back by the end of August – he says – the work will allow us to make a facility available again that will become a welcoming place for fans. I am confident in any case for the facility issue in the city, I am thinking of the Cus project for the Palascherma”.
