Sunday 9 June the third day full of meetings with big names from the world of culture

Today, Sunday 9 June 2024, another rich day of meetings, reflections and shows for the Festival of Despair. The exhibition, now in its eighth edition, investigates, between the serious and the facetious, the transformative power of literary sentiment par excellence. Organized by the Circolo dei Lettori of Andria with the artistic direction of Gigi Brandonisio, the event will take place in the spaces of the Episcopal Seminary and, with the theme “How you make mistakes”, this year it will continue until June 16, with great guests and unmissable events.

The appointments of the 3rd day

On Sunday, the illustrator NadiaGelsomina and the writer Mariagrazia Fiore will inaugurate the third day of the festival, with their “Unfinished Score of Absence”: the artists will share their intense considerations on the role of pain and loss in our lives, but also of the space of possibilities that these can open up for us (the appointment is at 6pm, entry by reservation).
We will then reflect on human vulnerability together with the journalist and writer Niccolò Zancan and the sociologist Francesca Coin, who during their meeting (7.00 pm) will tell touching and real stories that reveal the fragility of human existence in the face of the daily challenges of contemporary society . Following this, we will find the comedian and writer Claudio Morici on stage with his show “Suicidi Editoriali”, a provocative and entertaining analysis of production mechanisms and creative dynamics in the publishing world (8.15 pm). It will then be the turn of author-actor Roberto Mercadini on a journey between existentialism and transformation through the pages of Herman Melville’s masterpiece Moby Dick (9.30 pm).
