IP Archimede Barletta: the “Keep me safe” project arrives

The IP Archimede of Barletta, as part of the awareness initiatives against violence against women, is organizing a meeting to present the “Keep me safe” project on 29 May 2024 at 10.00 am.

This is a transversal industrial production project initiated by the 1C and 4MB classes of the Institute. The project brings together two sectors, the fashion one and the electrical one, in the construction of an item of clothing with the practical purpose of a visual and sound signal that can be used in various contexts in emergency situations. Specifically, the electrical part of a wearable signaling device that can be incorporated into a garment was designed and built.

This project can have a social purpose, for example to ask for help, but it can also be used in the context of a road emergency, for example in the case of a person whose car breaks down on the road at night, as a further visual signal.

“The Archimede IP – explains Professor Anna Ventafridda, head teacher of the Institute – is also told through important initiatives such as this one created in synergy with the territory and with social problems. In fact, we thought of donating the product of this project to Dr. Rosamaria Scorese, sister of Santa Scorese, victim of feminicide which occurred on 15 March 1991 under her house in Palo del Colle”.

The participation of the Giulia and Rossella Observatory, an anti-violence center in the city of Barletta, will be important for the occasion.
