Red Cross, Giuseppe Schirripa new president

After over 20 years, the committee of the Red Cross of Parma city changes its leadership: in fact, the doctor Giuseppe Schirripa has been elected as president for the next four-year term, succeeding Giuseppe Zammarchi, who had been at the helm of the Cri since 2004, when he had been appointed commissioner and was later confirmed as president several times. The rotation was already foreseen, as the CRI, a few years ago, introduced into its statute at a national level the maximum limit of two four-year terms for both presidents and members of the board of directors.

Precisely because of this limit, there was only one reconfirmation in the new council that will lead the Parma Red Cross until 2028, that of Andrea Oppici, who was in his first mandate.

The new board of directors
The elections involved approximately 1000 members of the Parma committee and the two branch offices of Berceto and Monchio. As mentioned, Giuseppe Schirripa, 71 years old, a retired ASL doctor and soldier for over 40 years, was elected to the presidency, clearly prevailing over Alessandra Zoni, the other presidential candidate. Joining him on the board of directors will be, in addition to the reconfirmed Andrea Oppici, Michele Bandini and Lisa Bartoli, as well as Giovani councilor Oleg Alessandro Guatelli. They will have the task of leading the Cri of Parma until 2028, the year in which the next renewal of the positions is expected.

Zammarchi’s budget
Zammarchi, who will continue to work as a volunteer in the Parma Cri national and I am therefore convinced that the work will continue without shocks.” There were two most intense moments of his mandate: «The period of little Tommy’s kidnapping, when I had recently taken office, and then that of Covid, which was a period of great commitment, but also of strong unity between the soldiers».
