Campitelli will be a manager of Pescara – Sport

PESCARA. Luciano Campitelli is a new manager of Pescara. The Teramo entrepreneur, former president of Teramo, signed the agreement yesterday with president Daniele Sebastiani. In the next few days his entry will be made official in a press conference, probably at the beginning of the week. Campitelli should fill the vice president’s role with an operational role and not just an “institutional” one, but for this we will have to wait for the official press release from the club. «I will try to bring the enthusiasm needed to get everyone going again, both the team and the square», said the new Biancazzurri manager after concluding the last decisive meeting with Sebastiani. Campitelli has not acquired shares in the club and is therefore not a new member, but he will be a figure with an important role alongside the president, on and off the pitch. The arrival of the former president of the Devil, who in recent weeks had been linked to Aquila Calcio, does not affect the ongoing negotiations between Sebastiani and the group interested in purchasing the majority shares of the Delfino. The change of ownership could, however, take place once the season has started, with the Sebastiani-Campitelli tandem remaining as ferrymen and managers of the transition. What is certain, and his entrepreneurial and sporting history certifies it, is that Campitelli is ambitious, used to being a protagonist, and not a simple supporting player. He took the post-Malavolta Teramo from the Promotion up to the B series, with the historic leap into the cadets revoked by the sporting justice system (for malfeasance) after a splendid ride with Vivarini on the bench.
Accounts in order. In Pescara he will try to bring all his experience, but also his ambition and desire to be a protagonist. Remaining, however, linked to the reality of the accounts and the budget, which in C must be constantly monitored to combine economic sustainability and technical quality. From next season, Pescara will be able to count on savings of at least 500 thousand euros per season thanks to the closure of the rental contract at Poggio degli Ulivi. The blue and white teams, from the youth teams up to the first team professionals, will train on the fields taken over in recent years: the Mastrangelo di Montesilvano and the Di Febo di Silvi. The summer retreat will take place in Palena, from mid-July, after a year of absence of the blue and whites.
Trainer. The first step for the restart on a technical level is the choice of the new coach. Sports director Delli Carri likes Francesco Baldini, his former teammate at Genoa, but the former Perugia and Trento player has already found a draft agreement with the Trentino club for a contract renewal. Despite having given his approval for a possible transfer to the Adriatic, Baldini is tied to a handshake with the president of Trento and is unlikely to betray his word. So here the toto-coach reopens. Delli Carri follows two other profiles, one with experience and one emerging, and among these he will choose the next Pescara coach, probably within the first few days of June and no later.
Squad. Once the man for the bench has been chosen, the club will then also have to rebuild the squad. Starting from the confirmations of Brosco, Pellacani, Pierno, Moruzzi, Dagasso, De Marco, Sasanelli, Manu and Tommasini and the youngsters Piga and Scipioni, as well as some youngsters from the Primavera who will be added to the first team. Milani, Di Pasquale and Cuppone are balanced between transfer and confirmation, while Plizzari, Mesik, Tunjov, Merola and Vergani will certainly be transferred. In a squad project that is no longer extra-large, but balanced, the priority will therefore be to take few, but quality reinforcements. Five fundamental reinforcements, beyond the characteristics that are also linked to the choice of the new coach: goalkeeper (there is talk of the possible return of Fiorillo), central defender, playmaker and second striker-winger (it is difficult to reach Pattarello, of Arezzo, one of the players at the top of Delli Carri’s list), as well as another central striker. A few more days of waiting and then the big maneuvers will begin.
