EXCLUSIVE Marangon: “New ownership? Inter isn’t changing. Lautaro…”

The former Nerazzurri left winger, who also had a past at Verona, comments on recent events at Inter

The 2023/24 Serie A season ends on Sunday evening with the Bentegodi match between Verona and Inter. Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri, Italian champions, face Baroni’s Scaligeri, protagonists of an almost unthinkable salvation considering the winter revolution of the squad. For the occasion Fcinter1908 contacted Luciano Marangon, a double ex of the day.

Verona and Inter both achieved their seasonal objective, salvation and the Scudetto respectively. Which achievement surprised you the most?

Certainly that of Verona: after the January transfer market, having sold half the team, it now seemed doomed. Baroni was very good at uniting the group and creating something with what he had at his disposal. Verona, among the teams fighting for survival, is the one that has scored the most points and played the best, deserving this result. Inter, on the other hand, was already the strongest team in the championship on paper. The one who showed that it could stand up to them was Bologna: Inter’s scudetto was fully deserved.

Verona-Inter is also the challenge between Baroni and Inzaghi, two coaches who have done very well this year.

Tomorrow will definitely be a celebration, a friendly match, since both teams have achieved their objectives. I expect a fun match, without the competitive spirit and fury of having to necessarily get a result. Verona will want to end the season in the best possible way in front of their fans, and winning against those who won the scudetto would be a great gift. Inter, as we have seen, does not give up anything, and wants to demonstrate that they fully deserved this championship. I’d like to see her live, but I’m far away these days…
