Last May 23rd in the meeting room of the Molicciara social center the students of the 2nd D of the “Dante Alighieri” secondary school of the Istituto comprensivo 17 of Castelnuovo Magra presented the activities and results of the “MOVI.AMOCI” project, conceived and supported by the Association for the Fight against Cerebral Stroke (ALICe) La Spezia ODV The students of the first classes were also present, who participated in the project by answering the questions of the questionnaire prepared by the students of the 2nd D.
The preparatory activities for carrying out the project were carried out by prof. Luca Braida, teacher of Mathematics and Sciences, by Dr. Silvia Molinu, nutritionist, teacher of the Casini Institute, and by Dr. Gian Pietro Montanari, science communicator, president of ALICe La Spezia.
The 2nd D students reworked the answers to the questionnaire they had developed, dividing themselves into working groups. They then discussed and evaluated the results obtained, translating them into graphs.
The event has opened with the intervention of President Montanari who highlighted “the importance of teaching health education in schools to spread good habits of a correct lifestyle among the population capable of improving the health of the entire community as well as the role strategy of the school capable of involving not only teenagers, but in this specific case, parents and grandparents”.
Followed by Prof. Braida illustrated the various phases of the project and the activities carried out by the students, complimenting them on the commitment shown. Then the students, divided into groups, presented and commented on the slides resulting from their work.
Also speaking were Dr. Alessandra Bertone, specialist in pediatrics and member of the scientific committee of ALICe La Spezia, Dr. Enrica Cantinotti, head of the University of La Spezia for the degree course in Nursing, and Dr. Carla Tazzer of the ASL 5 Epidemiology service.
The work was concluded by Professor Paola Difresco, director of the comprehensive institute, who appreciated the work carried out by the students and teachers, thanked the Municipality for granting the room and renewed the appointment for the next school year.
Followed by Dr. Montanari and Dr. Etrusco Catozzi, host of the event, they presented a commemorative plaque to the Institute in the hands of the Difresco manager, a certificate of “Pioneer of health education” for each of the 2nd D students and a t-shirt with the logo of the “MOV.IAM:OCI” project.
