L’AQUILA – There are approximately one hundred students from Abruzzo schools, of all levels, who yesterday, at Palazzo dell’Emiciclo, received the awards from the “Regional Commission for the implementation of equal opportunities and legal equality and substantial between women and men” for participation in the competition “Different equals – Call for ideas”.

Winners of contest, awarded with a check worth 500 euros, were: the secondary school of the Cesira Fiori Comprehensive Institute of San Demetrio Ne’ Vestini (AQ), with the artistic work “Galactic Manual”; the Liceo Artistico Musicale – Choreutico “Misticoni – Bellisario” of Pescara, with the video “Equal Opportunities, everyone can fly”; the primary school of the “Nuova Direzione Didattica di Vasto (CH)”, for the artistic work “The journey of Marco and Lucia, an interstellar journey”. Furthermore, a plaque was donated to the Collecorvino Comprehensive Institute which honors the commitment of the classes that participated in the project for the “Secondary secondary school” category, with particular reference to the poems, “Song of resilience: women between shadows and hope”, “Born to…”, “Women without names”, “Pain hits hard”.

“When we started to view the works presented by the Schools, we immediately perceived how the final result of the works arose from much larger projects animated by the teachers – said the President of the Commission, Maria Franca D’Agostinoat the opening of the ceremony – We grasped the intensity of the discussions and the in-depth analysis dedicated to gender issues. An evident tension regardless of the age of the participants. Often, together with the members of the Commission, we were moved, capturing reflections and nuances on the topic that adults often underestimate or fail to pick up on. Given the success of the first edition, I hope that the initiative will be proposed again in the coming years”.

The institutions also participated in the award ceremony. It is no coincidence that the representative of the Abruzzo Regional Council was one of the female members of the Presidential Office, the vice-president Marianna Scocciawho stated: “Make your dreams come true and don’t let anyone stop your passions. I have been involved in politics for a long time. I am mayor of a small town in the province of L’Aquila and vice-president of the Legislative Assembly. Be yourselves first, girls, and don’t set limits and I’m sure the satisfaction will come.”

All the institutes that participated in the competition, many present with delegations of students at the awards ceremony, were given certificates of merit and valued with the sharing of the works created.
