BAT inaugurates a new integrated logistics hub in Trieste

TRIESTE – BAT Trieste inaugurated its building yesterday new integrated logistics bub: 12,500 square meters behind the factory.
It is a logistics platform, built in partnership with Interporto Trieste, which requested an investment of 6 million euros, converting a previous warehouse. The new structure integrates the production plant and effectively doubles the surface area available to BAT in the FreeEste area, making Trieste the starting point for all the products marketed by BAT in Italy.
In collaboration with Interporto Trieste and the Port System Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, BAT Italia has created its new “A Better Tomorrow™ Innovation Hub”: an investment of up to 500 million euros in 5 years and approximately 2,700 in the future estimated jobs, both direct and indirect.
«The Integrated Logistics Hub – declared the president of BAT Trieste Andrea Di Paolo – is a new, strategic piece in BAT’s commitment in Italy and Trieste: it consists of a large warehouse for the storage and management of finished products of raw materials for BAT Trieste and for BAT Italia. It is a space designed to achieve high standards of efficiency and sustainability.”
Globally, BAT is the leading FMCG company with a multi-category product portfolio in the tobacco sector, with the aim of creating “a smoke-free world”. The hypothesis is to generate 50% of its turnover from non-combustion products (electronic cigarettes and related products) by 2035.
