Viterbo – Off-balance sheet debt passes without a quorum, the minority considers appealing to the Prefect

Confusion in yesterday’s city council, where between abstentions and those against, the Frontini majority appears to have approved an off-budget debt without even a quorum

VITERBO – Is an off-balance sheet debt enough to bankrupt the administration led by Chiara Frontini? Not yet, but what is certain – now – is that someone within the ranks of the majority is starting to move against the administration more and more often.

In fact, the move by Rinascimento – Io Apro councilor Ugo Poggi did not go unnoticed. The “sgarbiano”, during yesterday’s municipal council, chose to abstain from an amendment for an off-balance sheet debt of approximately 1200 euros which did not fail to arouse much controversy.

From the minority, which voted unanimously for a categorical “no”, there is even talk of grievances against the Prefecture for this small but very significant problem. The debt, in fact, arises from a condominium issue, between private individuals, where the Municipality should not have any say, due to the opposition. A thesis even supported by the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, called into question, and which promptly ruled that a municipal ordinance was out of place for this type of dispute.

As a final complaint, the entire opposition chose to get up and leave the room to avoid the quorum of 16 councilors. The resolution, despite this, seems to have passed anyway and there will soon be new complaints. Perhaps, even by Ugo Poggi himself, who preferred to abstain and go against the rest of his majority.
