debate in Molfetta with undersecretary Durigon

MOLFETTA – The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is having a strong impact on the Italian public sector. According to a recent report by Teleborsa, 57% of the 3.2 million public employees are highly exposed to the impact of AI in their daily activities. This means that their tasks will be increasingly characterized by interaction with intelligent algorithms, with possible scenarios of enrichment of activities or new work dynamics.

The adoption of AI in the public sector could represent both a risk and an opportunity. On the one hand, automation and generative AI can improve the efficiency and quality of public services. On the other hand, concerns regarding job security and the need for new skills may emerge.

In Italy, job postings referencing generative AI have increased nearly fivefold in the past two years, signaling rapid adoption of this technology. This data underlines how AI is becoming increasingly relevant also in the job market.

Debate on AI in Molfetta These issues will be at the center of a debate that will be held today, 24 May, at 4.00 pm, at the Network Contacts headquarters in via Olivetti 17 in Molfetta. The event will be moderated by the journalist Attilio Romita and will see the participation of Claudio Durigon, undersecretary of Labor, Roberto Marti, president of the Senate Culture commission, and Lelio Borgherese, president of Assocontact, the national association of business process outsourcers.

The debate will address the challenges and opportunities related to the adoption of AI in the public sector, exploring how this technology can transform the world of work and the services offered to citizens. It will be an opportunity to discuss strategies and policies to ensure that AI is used ethically and to the benefit of all.
