On the day of remembrance of Mario Grieco (19 May 2024), who died in a road accident on 23 May 2009, the mural dedicated to him located in via Giordano, in the municipality of Marano di Napoli, was restored. On this occasion, two benches dedicated to “Mario Grieco, Luigi Ciaramella and all the Road Victims” were installed outside the Maria SS Immacolata Parish, where the Holy Mass was held, recited by Don Rosario Moxedano.

Mother Rosa Di Bernardo spoke during the liturgical rite talking about road safety. The mural dedicated to his son was created 15 years ago by his friends and was taken up by the artist Paolo Petrarca, a graduate of the PeM Art Academy of Fine Arts and a high-sounding name in the sector, given the numerous restaurant works created personally on a national level. “I thank the artist Paolo Petrarca from the bottom of my heart for his skill and his ability to combine art with such an enormous tragedy – states Di Bernardo -. I strongly wanted and supported this initiative, adding a message for the protection of road users that was previously absent. He brought my son back to life, giving me a great emotion. A truly realistic style that keeps the memory of Mario alive and keeps his story imprinted in the minds of young people. My son left this world too soon, but the memory of him never fades.”
