On the occasion of “World Biodiversity Day”, the National Environmental Corps organized aa series of training interventions in the primary schools of Mongardino, Asti, Mandrogne and Bosco Marengo. The men of the detachments of Asti and Alessandria, together with the responsible manager of Northern Italy as speaker, they raised awareness of around two hundred people, including pupils and teachers, on the importance of biodiversity.
The initiative, which took place during school activities and in the presence of some Mayors, attracted great interest from the children, who interacted by asking numerous questions on the topic, and from the teachers. Given the relevance of the theme, a repeat of the event is planned for the next school year, with the addition of a practical component that will bring children into direct contact with nature through a forestry environmental project in green areas.
The National Environmental Corps underlined that “pTo introduce children to respect for the environment, very little is needed. Thanks to this experience, the organization is committed to training future responsible citizens, building a better tomorrow for all. In fact, it is from school that the next generations grow up, and therefore it is the duty of adults to provide them with the tools and awareness to safeguard the nature that surrounds us, even through small daily gestures, with the help and example of their parents “.
The project, born in Piedmont, will continue at a national level at the detachments of the National Environmental Corps present in the area.
