A new exhibition dedicated to the biomedical sector, a project that arises from a network of institutions and trade associations with the aim of promoting the growth, internationalization and innovation capacity of companies in the sector, while at the same time generating related activities for the territory. The appointment with the first edition of the fair Circular Medical ExpoInnovation for global health and the 18 and 19 November 2024 at the Fair in Padua.

The initiative, carried out thanks to Chamber of Commerce of Padua and included in the promotional program of the organization shared with the Veneto Region, is promoted by Venicepromex in partnership with Padua Hall and in collaboration with Confindustria Veneto Est, Confimi Industria Sanità – Sanità Veneto, Confapi Veneto, CNA Veneto, Veneto Biomedical Observatory, Galileo Visionary District, Unismart University of Padua Foundation, University of Padua.

The proposal represents the evolution of the Veneto Biomedical Exchange initiative, a successful event which in 2022 and 2023 hosted a program of B2B meetings to encourage matching between companies in the sector and potential partners such as purchasing centers and consortia or importers of biomedical and medical instrumentation. This year the calendar of meetings will be accompanied by an exhibition area. The event will be accompanied by an incoming program with the aim of involving buyers from consolidated markets and emerging markets, in particular from Europe and the Middle East.

Padua – explains Antonio SantoconoPresident of the Chamber of Commerce – it is increasingly establishing itself as a reference point for innovation in the healthcare sector, not only for the excellence of clinical practice and academic research, from medicine to biomedical engineering, but also for events capable of connecting universities and businesses : I think of the recent success of the first edition of the World Health Forum Veneto or the national and international medical and scientific conferences hosted in the Padova Congress Centre. Circular Medical Expo is a proposal that goes in this direction and finds its ideal location in the exhibition centre, where the new engineering faculties hub is also being built“.

Telemedicine, early diagnostics, minimally invasive surgery – he adds Franco Conzatospecial prosecutor of Venicepromex – these are just some of the most interesting frontiers in which biomedicine is moving, with solutions that in many cases concern the application of technologies based on artificial intelligence. The November event will be an opportunity to explore some of these innovations“.

We are very pleased to announce this new event, which fits perfectly into the path of expansion and diversification of our exhibition offer – he declares Nicola Rossipresident of Padova Hall – Fiera di Padova confirms itself as a constantly evolving reality, capable of intercepting the most dynamic and innovative industrial sectors, of making businesses, universities and institutions work in synergy to offer new growth opportunities to the economic fabric of the area. Skills, talents, technologies: all this will find space within Fiera di Padova in a transversal event in which many different subjects, but united by an innovative vision, will be able to find multiple opportunities to grow together. This is a unique event for our territory, the result of a positive synergy between companies, universities and institutions, but above all in line with the innovative drive that characterizes our exhibition center“.

The fair aims to become one of the reference events for a sector which, according to data from the Chamber of Commerce’s research office updated at the end of 2023, sees 364 active companies in the Padua area, 23% of the companies operating in Veneto, while the share of employees exceeds 27%: 1666 workers employed at provincial level, 6057 those active in the 1595 Venetian biomedical companies. Growth was also recorded on a regional scale, with a +10% of employees compared to 2019, while in the same period the number of companies remained essentially stable, marking -1.3%. At a national level, according to data from the Confindustria Study Center relating to 2023, the medical device sector generates a market worth 17.3 billion euros between exports and the domestic market and has 4,449 companies, which employ 118 thousand employees.
