The Janigro Festival, a music and cello festival, is back. The call for applications for the Masterclass is now open

Another edition a new beginning. The Antonio Janigro Festival is back, a festival of music and the cello, which will host its fourth edition in Montagano and Molise.

It will take place in the second week of July and will be presented at a press conference in the coming weeks.

It will be a Festival intimately linked to Montagano, the city of origin of the famous cellist Janigro, founder of the Zagreb Soloists, a Croatian chamber group that since 1953 has spread an idea of ​​music and belonging around the world, of extraordinary impact and interest.

“Continuity becomes evolution, the instrument becomes an amplifier of notes, of culture and a channel for the promotion of young talents – explains the director of the Artistic Committee Amedeo Cicchese – We are ready to travel a new stage of a wonderful journey. In the name of music and of its extraordinary performers, we will experience a week of great concerts and collateral events, twinnings and new partnerships that will give even more prestige and international scope to the Festival. We are happy to continue the collaborations with the Molise Symphony Orchestra OSM, the Molise Cultura Foundation and the Friends of Music Campobasso – continues Cicchese – Many opportunities in the wake of Antonio Janigro, in the cultural context of a region ready to surprise”.

The Artistic Committee has just launched the new Festival logo, inspired by the harmonies of shapes and sounds and Montagano, of course.
The first news approaching the event is the new Masterclass: “While waiting for the official program – explain the organizers – we are able to provide all the references to the 2024 announcement. The lessons, held by the Masters Paolo Bonomini and Amedeo Cicchese (members of the Janigro Duo) are open to cellists of any age and nationality. They will take place at the museum center of the Abbey of Santa Maria di Faifoli between 6 and 12 July, in the form of stimulating opportunities, among others the extraordinary one of playing with Maestro Antonio Meneses. (Janigro’s student and great supporter of the Festival).
The great cellist from Recife will hold two lecture-conferences on 10 and 11 July. The deadline for submitting the application is June 15th. All the relevant information is in the attached notice.
