We mainly talked about urban planning, with proposals such as the construction of a university campus and the moving of the much discussed Conad hub, in the meeting which took place this morning to present the fundamental points of the centre-right electoral program with the mayoral candidate Luca Negrini.

Let’s start from the Conad logistics hub: “One of the first promises we made was to the residents of Sacca – recalls Negrini -. We will therefore work to move the logistics hub to Cittanova, closer to the Modena Nord exit, so as not to congest the city with trucks and not let them enter the ring road. The proximity to the Brenner could also benefit Conad in terms of costs and would allow it to give an important destination to an area, that of Novigrad, which certainly needs to be sorted out solution must also be attractive for Conad, with this in mind we thought about creating social housing in Sacca, talking with Conad to find the best solution for everyone. A logistics center of that size in the city is not possible, while it is close to the. highway would be more useful for everyone”.

The second intervention included in the electoral program arises from the “great failure in terms of parking, namely that of Novi Park, wanted by the outgoing council. We are studying how to terminate the contract and will work to restore the area so that access to Novi Park increases, but at the same time we plan a large multi-storey car park in San Giovanni del Cantone to give greater accessibility to the historic center day and night, to guarantee a fast interchange, to facilitate access to the new Citadel of Justice which will be built at the Tabacchi Factory”, Negrini’s comment.

The third and largest project that the centre-right proposes to carry forward, renamed ‘Mutina Campus’, is to “transform the Ottavo Campale into the largest campus in the city, with services and sports facilities, connected to the center and the rest of the city with better cycle paths and services than the current ones – continues Negrini – it would also lead to a different use of the Ferrari park. What is currently located in the Ottavo Campale will be moved to via Minutara”.

The candidate then mentioned “the social center that will be built in the Charitas area and which will have to guarantee work done in synergy between the Administration, private individuals, associations and bodies” and the theme of the ‘beauty’ of the city: “We will look for a place where street artists will be able to free their art, but we will study more severe sanctions for those who deface the walls.”

Last but not least, Piazza Matteotti: “We want to make it brighter, more beautiful and more attractive. In the past the swings were removed because they hosted drug dealers, we want to remove the drug dealers and put the swings back in. The historic center will then be freed from airlines of trolleybuses and will instead be served by electric minibuses. The overhead line is unsightly. These are all projects that can be implemented and which will give direction to the city to become a Modena of the future”, concluded Negrini.
