The Giro d’Italia of pediatric palliative care stops in Reggio Emilia Sunday 19 May, Chiostro della Ghiara

Oncological diseases represent 9% of children eligible for Pediatric Palliative Care and are those who access it most easily.

A multidimensional approach to the needs of the minor and his family alleviates suffering, pain and other symptoms, taking into account the psycho-emotional state and problems connected to the social, cultural and spiritual sphere, and conferring quality of life in the care path to sometimes very long, ranging from the diagnosis of incurability and irreversibility to the advanced and terminal stages of the disease. Pediatric Palliative Care, especially where there is early care of the minor and the family, allows one to improve the quality of life and find balance and stability in one’s daily life.
