False residences for residence permits: silently investigated in Ragusa

The subjects affected by the investigation into ‘false residences’ in Ragusa for the purposes of obtaining residence permits for around thirty people of Tunisian origin all availed themselves of the right not to respond. The woman who, according to the reconstruction of the investigations, would have managed the practices and a man of Tunisian nationality together with whom he would have managed them are defended by the lawyer Fabrizio Cavallo; two individuals, at the time of the events, in 2022, employees of the municipality of Ragusa (one of whom today works in a another municipality in the Ragusa area) are defended by the lawyer Marco Comitini and a woman under house arrest and another under house arrest, who would be involved in the assignment of residences, are defended by the lawyer Emilio Cintolo. The interrogations were held in front of the investigating judge Ivano Infarinated at the Court of Ragusa. In the absence of the deputy prosecutor Silvia Giarrizzo, the public prosecution was represented by the deputy Martina Dall’Amico. According to the prosecution’s theory, the suspects would have favored residence in approximately ten available homes. to allow foreign subjects to obtain residency which in reality would not have been effective. In this case, the corruption hypotheses in which the two public employees who certified the residence would be investigated. Obtaining residency would have been the basis of practices, distorted by these irregularities, for obtaining residence permits or family reunification.
