One year after the flood, the delivery ceremony of the water pump to the Municipality of Ravenna purchased thanks to the “A water pump for the territories” fundraiser organized by Assorisorse and Amici della Terra.
“This project, intended to help the affected communities and companies, was launched during the emergency and responded to the awareness message sent by the Municipality of Ravenna, Fire Brigade and Civil Protection to equip the territories with a highly technological tool that would provide operational, concrete and structural support in the event of emergencies and disasters. – explain from Assorisorse and Amici della Terra.
The water pump donated to the Municipality of Ravenna will be entrusted to the Fire Brigade who will take care of its management and use in any emergency situations in the Region, in Italy and in Europe.
“The initiative has been extended to the entire energy supply chain, also involving ANFIDA, ANIMA, ANIMP, Assoambiente, Confindustria Energia, Proxigas, ROCA and Unem who have spread the project internally – they continue -. Thanks to the contribution of 49 companies and associations, and 22 individuals raised 372,000 euros which were allocated to the purchase of a pump chosen based on the characteristics useful to the area. The water pump was identified, evaluated and studied in its technical characteristics together with the experts from Rosetti Marino”.
In particular, technically the system consists of: three hydraulic pumps complete with removable floats; three hydraulic connection pipes for operating the pumps and the same number of 12″ hoses for transferring the water. The pumps in total can suck up to 50,000 liters per minute. The system allows you to suck up and transfer large masses of water even in situations where there is a very high surface difference in level. The length of the hydraulic hoses driving the pumps guarantees access to bodies of water, canals, basins and flooded areas quickly and easily. The unit is equipped with an advanced control and measurement system of all operating parameters.
The ceremony was attended by local authorities, companies and taxpayers involved in the collection. In addition to the Municipality of Ravenna, Carlo Dall’Oppio, Head of the National Fire Brigade, Oscar Guerra, CEO of Rosetti Marino, Stefano Maione, President of Assorisorse and Monica Tommasi, President of Amici della Terra, attended.
