CIVITAVECCHIA – Next May 6th, at the “A. Cialdi” in Civitavecchia, the “Alza la Voce!” project will begin, an ambitious initiative to raise awareness of listening and reading dedicated to young people and children in the area. The project received financial support from the Municipality of Civitavecchia.
The idea for this project was born from the success of a series of initiatives previously tested with the local network and financed by Cepell. These activities saw the collaboration of bodies of various origins, including the Molinari Foundation, the Il Ponte Association, the local schools, the ASL and the municipal libraries.
«The primary objective of “Raise Your Voice!” – explain the organizers – is to promote an intervention that actively supports the young generations, transmitting to them the importance and pleasure of reading. We want to leave our children with the awareness that adults believe in the power of reading as a tool for excellence and personal growth.”
Particularly focused on the age groups of Primary School (8-10 years) and Lower Secondary School (11-14 years), the project aims to intervene at multiple levels:
Direct reading to children and teenagers: through reading sessions aloud, we want to keep alive the pleasure of the story coming from the adult, even when the child begins to read independently.
Dramatized reading events: involving adults and children, we want to promote events that transform reading into an engaging and memorable experience.
Creation of new places for sharing reading: we want to promote the creation of spaces dedicated to reading and cultural sharing within the community.
Reading workshops for children:
Every Monday from 5pm to 6pm starting from May 6th.
It is expected that 7 cycles of reading meetings will be held, divided over 7 months of the project, with 4 meetings per month of 1 hour each.
Age range involved: 8-10 years.
Every month a novel from children’s literature will be presented.

Every month a novel by A. Christie will be presented.
