The ‘Ndrangheta of Reggio and the business in the nightlife venues in Milan: the seizure of assets validated

The investigating judge of Milan Sonia Mancini has validated the emergency seizure, ordered by the Milanese DDA last 15 April, of four companies that are part of as many bars and catering establishments, one outside and three inside the municipal market in the Isola district, one of the busiest areas in recent years in the Lombard capital.

A seizure that was carried out in the investigation by prosecutor Silvia Bonardi and the Gico of the Gdf economic and financial police unit in Milan which also centered on alleged infiltrations of the ‘ndrangheta into nightlife venues and which also led to the arrest of 14 people, including the alleged boss Salvatore Giacobbe, linked to the Piromalli family of Gioia Tauro (Reggio Calabria).

Among those arrested also the alleged representative of the Piromalli Agostino Cappellaccio. It would have been him, through frontmen, who managed the catering sector on behalf of the clan. Given the disproportion between the incomes of the alleged “wooden heads” and the ownership of those premises, the investigators have put the seals onre activities of the Isola municipal market: La Masseria, food shop, Granum, take-away pizzeria, and the Piscarius fish shop (from October 1st to April 5th it invoiced “246 thousand euros!!!”, it was said in an interception). And then also to Beats Bar in via Borsieri. A judicial administrator was appointed to manage the companies. The investigating judge signed the validation provision in recent days.
