SAN SALVO – “The statements expressed by the Fim, Fiom and Fismic Nazionali unions regarding the Denso dispute in San Salvo cause great concern. The announced redundancies which would reduce the workforce from the current 834 to 635 workers, and the uncertainty about investments towards a diversification of production, combined with the only verbal confirmation of the Japanese parent company’s desire to continue the activity in San Salvo, highlights how much the ‘The existing ‘Region-Government’ institutional table has not so far led to concrete and tangible results in defense of the work and future of the company”: this is what we read in a note from the Vastese Democratic Party.

“We therefore express concern about the Denso dispute and at the same time we do not accept the words expressed by the mayor of San Salvo, Emanuela De Nicolis who seems to be distant from the problem and only interested in giving support to the new regional councilor for labour, Tiziana Magnacca – continues the note –, as also hoped for by the president of the Province of Chieti, Francesco Menna, in a decisive and decisive change of pace. The moment we are going through, and which has been going on for too long now, is delicate and difficult and the Abruzzo Region in these six years has not given concrete answers, nor has the much and always vaunted ‘Municipality-Region’ chain”.

“The time for talking is over, the time for waiting is over. Concrete facts are needed and Politics has tasks: to guarantee existing employment levels which, if they were to decrease further, would cause serious repercussions on the economic-social fabric of our local areas”, concludes the note.
