Weather, yellow alert in Campania for thunderstorms, hailstorms and gusts of wind from 2pm

Yellow weather alert in Campania for today, Saturday 20 April: the Civil Protection of the Campania Region has issued a warning for sudden, sudden and intense rains and thunderstorms valid from 2pm to 11.59pm today, in particular in the areas of Alto Volturno, Matese, Alta Irpinia and Sannio. “Storm phenomena will be characterized”, explains the regional Civil Protection, “by forecast uncertainty and rapidity of evolution. The possibility of lightning, hail and gusts of wind is also expected”.

Furthermore, the Civil Protection of the Campania Region has made it known that:

Attention must be paid to the hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact of rain and storms on the ground are flooding, increase in the hydrometric levels of watercourses, flow of water on road surfaces, runoff with transport of material, fall boulders and landslides. Due to possible hailstorms and gusts of wind, there could also be damage to temporary structures, public green areas and roofs. Municipalities are reminded to activate the COCs (Municipal Operations Centers) and to implement all measures aimed at preventing, combating and mitigating the expected phenomena, in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans and to monitor the correct maintenance of the greenery public.
