A few weeks after the inauguration of 5 new connections, the first flight to Bordeaux also took off on Saturday.

The route operates twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On the occasion of the inaugural flight, passengers were able to taste the refined Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG at high altitude.

Volotea inaugurated on Saturday 13 April the route – operated exclusively by the carrier with two frequencies a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays – which connects the Scaligero airport with Bordeaux, the enchanting French city. For this connection, the low-cost airline of small and medium-sized European cities has provided a total offer of more than 14,000 seats for sale.

After the recent new flights inaugurated just three weeks ago – Comiso, Madrid, Prague, Copenhagen and Valencia – Volotea is further turbocharging in Verona. Rich in historical monuments – so much so that it was declared a UNESCO heritage site in 2007 – delicious pastry shops and très chic restaurants, Bordeaux is the ideal destination for a long weekend.

“With the launch of the exclusive connection to Bordeaux we have achieved an important new milestone for our operational base in Verona – declared Valeria Rebasti, International Market Director of Volotea -. Through these new routes, we not only shorten the distances between the Venetian city and the rest of Europe, but we concretely support this splendid territory, increasing the flows of incoming tourists and developing new traffic. In fact, it should not be forgotten that starting from September we will connect Verona with the brand new Salerno airport”.

Furthermore, the carrier has planned a surprise to celebrate the launch of the new route. In fact, during the inaugural flight on Saturday, passengers had the opportunity to taste the elegant Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG on board, appreciating the Extra Dry typology as they flew towards the renowned Bordeaux wine region. This unique experience is part of the carrier’s sponsorship of the “Via Sensoria” project, which sees the Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG and the Cité du Vin of Bordeaux together in the promotion of the wine excellences of the two territories.

For 2024, at the Scaliger airport, Volotea’s offer includes a total of 20 routes, 9 towards Italy (Alghero, Cagliari, Catania, Comiso – new for 2024, Lampedusa, Olbia, Palermo, Pantelleria and Salerno – new September 2024) and 11 abroad, 3 in Spain (Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia – both new for 2024), 3 in Greece (Athens, Heraklion/Crete and Zakynthos), 2 in France (Paris Orly and Bordeaux – new for 2024) , 1 in Germany (Berlin), 1 in Denmark (Copenhagen – new 2024) and 1 in the Czech Republic (Prague – new 2024). All Volotea routes are available on the website http://www.volotea.com and in travel agencies.
