An intestinal virus knocked out Oprah Winfrey and forced her to be hospitalized. Last Monday, the queen of American talk shows was expected as a guest on the CBS Morning program, to announce the book chosen for the summer (i.e. Familiaris by David Wroblewski) to her reading club (Oprah’s book club), but she didn’t is presented.
Journalist Gayle King, one of Winfrey’s best friends, explained the reason for her absence. «She had this stomach problem, sort of intestinal flu…. I won’t be too explicit. Needless to say, she ended up in hospital, dehydrated, she had to get an IV” said King, specifying that “It was a very serious».
