Checco Zalone continues to confirm its dominance over Italian cinema. His new film, “Buen Camino,” debuted with mind-boggling numbers: in just four days, from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 December, the film grossed 26.9 million euros, gaining the title of the highest-grossing film of 2025 in Italy.

The average per theater was 34,847 euros in 771 cinemas, with over 3.3 million spectators and a market share of 71.4%.

Never before had a film released during the Christmas period recorded such an opening, marking a real seasonal record.

The impact of “Buen Camino” on the film sector was immediate: the weekend recorded growth of 256.5% compared to the previous one and 87% compared to the same period in 2024. With these numbers, the film directed by Gennaro Nunziante ranks at the top of the highest grossing list of the year, ahead of titles such as Lilo & Stitch (22.3 million), Follemente (17.9 million) and Zootropolis 2 (15.9 million).

The comparison with Zalone’s previous successes makes the result even more significant. Quo Vado had debuted with 22.7 million, Tolo Tolo with 30.2 million, but both were released on New Year’s Eve, historically the strongest day for the box office. Furthermore, Tolo Tolo had benefited from an extra day of programming compared to “Buen Camino”.

Distributed by Medusa Film, the film is produced by Marco Cohen, Benedetto Habib, Fabrizio Donvito and Daniel Campos Pavoncelli. This is an Indiana Production production in collaboration with Medusa Film, MZL and Netflix, with the contribution of the Vuelta company.
