Remco Evenepoel hello to Soudal Quick-Step. The Olympic champion, both road and time trial, made the most important decision of his career by signing for the Red Bull – BORA – Hansgrohewhere he will arrive starting from 2026. The Belgian himself explained that the choice also arises from the desire to be in a more competitive lineup on climbs and stage races, while the team in which he became a professional and grew up still maintains a soul strongly linked to the classics and sprints. Officially, the new era of the class of 2000 begins on January 1st, when the new contract will become effective. This is therefore the last day with the team he joined in 2019, after dominating among the juniors.
The same Remco Evenepoel wanted to say hello Soudal Quick-Step with a post on Instagram in which he thanks his now former team: “What a journey… From being a boy with a dream to becoming a man chasing his dreams. There aren’t enough words to describe the last 7 seasons. The victories, the falls, the lessons, the people who supported me… I will be forever grateful. Grateful for my teammates who became friends, for everyone who believed in me, for everyone who made this chapter an unforgettable race.”
With the shirt of Soudal Quick-Step, Remco Evenepoel he won Tour of Spain 2022, due Liège-Bastogne-Liège (2022 and 2023), 2 stages at the Tour de France, 5 at the Vuelta, 2 at the Giro d’Italia, 3 San Sebastian Classics and various competitions of all levels. With the Belgian national team he has meanwhile won 3 time trial World Championships (from 2023 to 2025) and one on the road (in 2022) and a European time trial championship, in addition to the double Olympic title in Paris 2024.
