Queen Camilla proves once again that she has a great sense of humor

King Charles III he would do well to be careful, because the Queen Camilla he jokingly planted a seed, setting his sights on one of his patronages. During a recent engagement, Camilla once again showed off her signature sense of humor, cracking a joke about a real-life task where she’d like to replace her husband.

Camilla went to the Garden Museum in London to visit the new exhibition «Gardening Bohemia: Bloomsbury Women Outdoors», which celebrates the lives and gardens of the writer Virginia Woolf, her artist sister Vanessa Bell, the photographer Lady Ottoline Morrell and the writer Vita Sackville -West. Charles is the official royal patron of the Garden Museum, but Camilla, as she said in an off-the-cuff comment, has always been a fan of the museum.

«I don’t know exactly how many visits I’ve made here: but there are a lot. I know my husband is a patron, but maybe I’ll give him a nudge, because I’d like to take it away from him.” she said, greeted by laughter.

“It’s such a special place that every time I’m asked I can’t help but go back,” she said, “and I think this wonderful exhibition celebrating women in gardening is really important.”

Charles is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, a diagnosis he shared with the public earlier this year. On the advice of his medical staff, he returned to his official public engagements on a somewhat lighter schedule, and Camilla made several wry comments about her husband’s reluctance to slow down.

At an event over the weekend, Camilla joked to a colleague that Carlo was “fine” but “doesn’t slow down or do what he’s told”. Also at a royal garden party in May, Camilla provided a tongue-in-cheek update, saying her husband “is getting better… Well, he would if he behaved well.”
