«With Laura Chiatti I had performance anxiety. For my children I would like a permanent job, a more concrete job than mine”

Marco Bocci He was a guest at La Volta Buona and, thanks to the Christmas period, he talked about his complicated relationship with the holidays, far from the traditional imagination of lights and magical atmosphere. The actor admitted bluntly: «I have never felt a real Christmas atmosphere. When I was little everything was more earthly, more practical. As time goes by, before the children arrive, I experienced it like the GrinchI used to meet up with friends, losers like me.” A feeling that only partially changed with fatherhood: «We agreed to make this film because we wanted to contribute to the Christmas sphere with our children, our family».

The family and children

In the second moment of the interview Bocci focused on his relationship with his wife Laura Chiattitalking about the embarrassment they felt in acting together for the first time in the drama “If I Were You”. «Between me and my wife Laura Chiatti the embarrassment of acting together arose.

It was the one thing we had never done before. I had a little performance anxiety because I thought it was the first time he’d seen me act. She laughed, when we rehearsed at home, we looked like two idiots”, he said, smiling. Then there is room for the children, who are now 9 and 10 years old and look at their father’s work with a certain detachment: «Our children are very skeptical. They saw little of my films because they were scared.”

Bocci also spoke about their quick wedding, celebrated after just two weeks of knowing each other, recalling with irony a now famous episode: «The day after the wedding Laura Chiatti asked me for a divorce. We got married after two weeks of knowing each other, so once the party was over, the adrenaline was over and everything… she became aware of what we had done, while I was still in the midst of the adrenaline.” Today, however, the priorities are clear and all pass from the family: «For my children I would like a permanent joba more concrete job than mine.” And on the idea of expanding the family further, he concludes realistically: “We would have wanted four, but wait… now that they’re starting to grow and we’re starting to breathe.”
