Grateful to the vehicle for the service it has always provided, in an impeccable manner, Kilmer has undertaken a scenic journey along the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, surrounded by friends and family. “This machine has been with us since the beginning”Kilmer explained to CHRIST. “Our daughters have practically grown up on it. Reaching a million miles was a very emotional moment for us.”.

While the indomitable spirit was undoubtedly remarkable, Kilmer is even more proud of the life-saving role acquitted in the profession of medical courier. “When you think about how many lives this car has probably touched and potentially saved by delivering medicine, it’s incredibly gratifying. That’s what makes me really happy about this car. Not only has it reached a million miles, but it’s also done some real good in the world.”. Yet, despite the remarkable values, the absolute record still belongs to Irv Gordon’s Volvo P1800: 3.2 million miles (about 5,150,000 km), equivalent to a trip to the moon three times.
