TRAPANI – A huge victory! Openjobmetis conquers the hitherto undefeated Trapani field and pockets two golden points. Shark lets go of all her problems (flu, injuries and of course non-sporting issues) and plays to the best of her talent. Varese’s success is well deserved and has many fathers: we mention two, among all, “holy hand” Librizzi e “tiramolla” Renfrobut the victory has only one protagonist. The team. That team was born “crooked” from the summer transfer market and which coach Kastritis straightened out, helped by the arrival of Iroegbu and Stewart. The very hot area is behind us. With two games left in the first round, someone is eyeing the Final Eight in Turin (Luis Scola’s wet dream). The truth, as the Greek coach said after the match, is the most banal, but also the most correct. Think game after game. Crunch time
Openjobmetis still flies to +10, but Arcidiacono doesn’t give up (75-79 at 35′) and Librizzi didn’t even score a triple or recover a ball on defense (75-82 at 37′). Kastritis goes with the Smurfs quintet without big men to change over everyone in defense. The instant replay takes away a basket from Alviti in the 38th minute and Petrucelli makes no mistake (81-84 in the 38th minute): the former Brescia player leads the assault on Trapani (86-87 with 58″ to play), he replies Iroegbu who then makes an incredible mistake on the counterattack. Alviti it’s glacial from the bezel and then Stewart recovers the ball for the winning dunk Moore (technical and “argument” with Cappelletti who was sent off 1″ from the end… well, personality was not the strong point of the three referees on the pitch).

I want to congratulate my boys, because this week we had a lot of injuries, but we were present. The key to the match was consistency against a very talented team. We don’t have to look too far ahead, but work day after day, game after game. The victory is good for us in terms of mood, but the season is still very long. It was an important success, away in a very warm environment and on an undefeated pitch. Today we created some good shots and were focused for the whole 40 minutes and I’m satisfied with that. We are improving in the last few weeks, but we have to keep this mentality next Saturday against Napoli.

We are happy, because we have always worked a lot. Today we wanted to win on a previously undefeated field and we did it. My performance? I try to get into the flow by making easy baskets and today it went well, even if it was a very tough game.

The club takes note of the decisions of the Basketball League and the Federation and considers them to be obvious injustice and cruelty towards the club for the failure to register our coach Alex Latini. In normal conditions this evening on the pitch we would have made the difference in the ranking between the two teams count.
