In the last few hours to keep the bench among the insiders and fans of the world championship there is the unexpected move by Valentino Rossi on social media. The nine times world champion, after his presence at the Mugello Grand Prix, stopped following the official MotoGP account. At the moment he has not given any explanation, but there is great pressure to understand the reasons for this surprising decision by a legend of motorcycling as well as owner of the Enduro Vr46 Racing team.
Valentino Rossi and the Social MotoGP account
Although the exact moment in which Valentino Rossi made this decision is unknown, many suggest that the cancellation of the “Like” took place last Sunday at Mugello. This apparently simple move triggered the debate on the possible reasons at the base, without still any official declaration by the pilot or its entourage. In the past, during seasons marked by sports tensions, as in the 2015 MotoGP championship, the doctor of Tavullia would have stopped following some social profiles. But the latter recent event remains wrapped in doubt.
The organization of the MotoGP has not issued any declaration regarding this situation, nor was there any official interaction with the pilot following his decision to stop following the official account. For now, this gesture remains a mere anecdote that strengthens the relevance and influence of the nine times world champion in the dynamics of the category. In a transition phase of this sport, with the new regulation that will come into force since 2027, Valentino Rossi’s approval is essential to not lose charm and charisma in the eyes of the fans.
Just a few days ago Davide Tardozzi, Ducati team manager, had launched an appeal to tend to hand to Marc Marquez to end the diatribe that has been going on for ten years. But there seems to be no connection with the cancellation of the “like”.
