“Thank you all for the messages, I was really lucky.” These are words that reassure those of Vittoria Guazzinithe Tuscan cyclist who was the victim of a truly impressive fall yesterday while he was engaged in the line test of the Italian women’s cycling championships in Darfo Boario Terme (Brescia).

And a few hours after the accident, which saw her go to bang violently against a wall and risk ending up in a cliff, the 24 -year -old athlete – in the race with the Fiamme Oro sports group – also posted the photos that show the consequences of the fall: wounds and abrasions in different parts of the body and then a shot with the right -handed arm. «I have reported some abrasions – we still read in the message posted on social media – and a fracture at the head of the radio. But I will come back, as always ».

The bike out of control and the crash

The images of the terrible accident – these also shared on social media by the same blue cyclist, Olympic champion in 2024 with Chiara Consonni in the Madison on the track in Paris – have gone around the web. Guazzini was walking downhill at high speed and was just over 30 kilometers from the finish, when he lost control of the bike in the curve. In a braking attempt, the rear wheel blocked: the cyclist made an impressive flight going to slam against a wall on the roadside, risking to end up in the ravine below. The Tuscan athlete – born in Pontedera and raised in Poggio a Caiano – managed to go through the ambulance independently and was then transported to the hospital.
