Selection of the finalist triad in December 2025, proclamation of the winners in April 2026
It starts the 5^ edition of CamPiello junior prizethe literary recognition born from the collaboration between the Il Campiello Foundation, Pirelli and the Pirelli Foundation, For Italian works of fiction, poetry and theatrical texts written for children, with the aim of encouraging reading and contributing to the spread of the book among the very young.
The Campiello Junior Award is divided into two distinct categories by age groups: the category 7-10 yearsaimed at readers of classes III, IV and V of primary school and the category 11-14 yearsaimed at readers of classes I, II and III of the first grade secondary school.
The works published for the first time in paper format between the 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025. Applications are open until 18:00 of 20 October 2025. The compliance of the works to the requirements of the regulation will be verified by a Technical committee.
The selection mode provides a double jury. There Technical jurychaired by the professor and specialist of literature for children Pino Boero and composed of Emma Beseghi, Lea Martina Forti Grazzini, Chiara Lagani e Michela Possamaiwill select the two finalists. The selection will take place with a public vote to be held within the first decade of December 2025. The winners will instead be decreed by Jury of young readerscomposed of 240 guys of Italian language, residing in Italy and abroad, divided equally between the two categories.
The boys will be the real protagonists, called to choose the winners to whom a cash prize of 2000 euros will be recognized. The winners will be proclaimed in April 2026 and celebrated in September during the award ceremony of Campiello 2026. To the boys who will be part of the jury and all the young reading enthusiasts, Pirelli with its foundation and the Il Campiello Foundation will give the opportunity to participate in a series of initiatives dedicated to the world of book and publishing for children, which will also be attended by the authors of the finalist books.
