Immediately out of Wimbledon after the Roland Garros flop

Milan, Jun 30. – (Adnkronos) – Lombardy continues in steps sent its path to sustainable mobility, with the opening of five hydrogen supply stations for the automotive that will see the light within the year and will be operational starting from 2026 Two stations in Tortona. The carugate system will be able to supply both light and heavy vehicles, promoting the use of hydrogen as a sustainable alternative to traditional fuels. Today’s presentation is, as the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, pointed out, a “fundamental stage towards the creation of a national network dedicated to hydrogen road mobility”.

And the project is part of the broader context of European policies for decarbonisation and the transition to climatic neutrality, as well as representing a significant contribution to an increasingly innovative, efficient and low emissions transport system. The initiative was promoted by Milano Serravalle-Tangential Milan with the aim of starting a hydrogen mobility model applied to transport by rubber in Italy, starting from a key infrastructure hub in the heart of Lombardy: “We believe a lot in hydrogen as an alternative carrier for sustainable transport-the president of Milan Serravalle-Milan Tangenziale Elio Catania-on the other hand the hydrogen was chosen. From Europe for several years and from Italy that has diverted important PNRR resources on hydrogen. The choice to open in Carugate was dictated by the flow of transport from Northern Europe to the port of Genoa, to intercept the trafficking of goods throughout Europe: “Here – in Catania – two fundamental European corridors pass, corridor 2 and corridor 5; out of this “. The economic commitment for the entire set of the 5 stations cost 55 million euros, with PNRR funding and in part of the European Community: “It is a strategic project in which Italy believes and in which we, as Serravalle and as a FNM group, we believe a lot”.

The introduction of hydrogen into an energy transition path represents a scope of strategic development for the FNM group, also engaged in the H2iseo Hydrogen Valley project in Val Camonica, dedicated to local public transport on iron and rubber. As part of the H2isee, within the first half of 2026, the commercial service of the first hydrogen trains in Italy will be started.: “The strategic plan of the FNM group – explains the president of FNM, Andrea Gibelli – fixed important energy efficiency objectives and reduction of emissions, to be achieved through the development of sustainable mobility systems”. The network of hydrogen road supply stations, together with the H2iseo project, represents “a fundamental step forward in this direction, which is accompanied by the many other actions that the group is carrying out, such as the renewal of fleets and the commitment in the production of electricity from renewable source”. Moreover, Remember Gibelli, “for the FNM group the hydrogen project began in 2019; today we arrived in 2025 knowing that the hydrogen strategy for the European Community, in the theme of the diversification of energy sources, represents more than 10% of the objectives that the European community has set off. Lombardy to be in step with the times “. In all, the project provides for a total investment of 55.4 million euros, financed by national and European funds allocated by the PNRR and the European Union, as part of the CEF Transport Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) program aimed at the decarbonisation of transport along the TEN-T (Trans-European Transport Network) network.

The goal is to create an integrated, multimodal and sustainable transport network throughout Europe: “We – undermine the CEO of Mise, Ivo Roberto Cassetta – we contribute with commitment to make the territory more and more sustainable, through projects that generate value for the environment and the communities, also at national and European level. The realization of the new hydrogen station of Carugate Est confirms this vision, founded first of all on research and innovation aimed at aimed at sustainable mobility and innovation. With the expansion of the offer of carbon neutral energy resources “in this perspective, it is essential to accelerate the development of infrastructure for the use of hydrogen as zero -emission fuel to direct emissions with the aim of reducing atmospheric pollutants along the main road corridors of northern Italy, promoting sustainable mobility on long distance and strengthening the European network of alternative fuels, in line with the objectives of neutrality Climate established at the Community level.: “I thank Serravalle and his Board, the Lombardy Region and FNM, beyond the parliamentarians and the many mayors who are here to demonstrate how much this innovation is a awaited innovation -said the Undersecretary with delegation to economic programming, Alessandro Morelli-; the rest of the world is also going in this direction.

And -Ittinea- also ‘also’ because our mantra must be technological neutrality, but we must not fall in love with one type of fuel compared to another. Having profoundly liberal values, and above all by canceling the ideology, we must present all the proposals that the market makes available to families and businesses “. For this reason” the investment of the Lombardy Region is consistent with the aspirations of the government, to allow everyone to choose their own mobility and better transport tool. And this is not only an interest of companies, but also a public interest “. Currently in Europe there are over 250 refueling stations, with over 200 during the programming.
