From glory … to gravel: this, in extreme synthesis, on Saturdays of Fabio Quartararopassed by the conquest of the pole of GP of Olanda to one Sprint Of MotoGP closed prematurely because of a fall after guiding the limit for the whole race.
Quartararo tries, but that’s not enough
After a stellar morning, where he scored the Fourth Pole Position seasonal (the twentieth with Yamaha in MotoGP), Fabio Quartararo It can only be disappointed by the result of his sprint, which ended in the gravel because of a fall on the tenth lap.
Taken well from the first position, the ‘Diablo’ found the right starting point, keeping the head of the race in the early stages. But, while trying to resist the attacks (especially of M.Marquez), the Frenchman found himself forced to give way, releasing quickly to the fourth position. Evident difficulties, therefore, perhaps also also the result of a used soft rubber who did not help. At the end of the race, during the Debrief with the media, the Frenchman explained what happened:
I don’t think it’s that [la gomma] The reason I fell, but it certainly did not help you have a used tire, especially at the rear, but It was the only way to get a new set for tomorrow. In general it was a difficult race why We can be fast, but we cannot battle as I would like.
The speed is there, but that’s not enough
Quartararo then went down in more detail, explaining what the difficulties encountered today were:
The rear obviously pushed a little on the front, but today the real problem was not that, as much as the fact that I was always at the limit, every lap I pushed as if it were a time attack. This is because we still lose a lot in rectilinear, especially when we go out of very slow curves, almost 2 tenths to turn, which in total make 2.6 “in a sprint. We have speed, but being able to fight is completely another story unfortunately.
Hence the “ease” in making pole (we are already at 4 this season per Quartararo), which however is then directly proportional to the difficulties in the race:
I know my potential and I know how fast I can, but but Then realistically we know that in the race we will not make great results. In general, it is difficult for us because we struggle to overtake, I don’t even remember my last ‘true’ overtaking, excluding the initial tour. So if we don’t leave well, then everything is very complicated: at this moment the qualification is my strong point and I can draw the best from the bike, But I also know what I miss to go even stronger.
