Italianist and historian of literature, Giuseppe Iannaccone (Avellino, 1972) is a PhD in Italians at the University of Naples “Federico II”. Former professor of Italian literature in the “Roma Tre” and “La Sapienza” universities, he has numerous studies on Italian literature of the twentieth century and the second nineteenth century. Among his best known volumes, the biography of Italo Svevo, a monograph on Anna Maria Ortese and important curators for the classics of the second Italian nineteenth century (Verga, Fontana, Imbriani). For the “Meridiani Mondadori” series, he is taking care of the edition of the works of Antonio Pennacchi. He is also the author of Italian literature manuals for second grade secondary schools.
With his appointment to the presidency, Giuseppe Iannaccone takes over from Adriano Monti Buzzetti, who left the assignment following the recent designation to director of Rai Libri (already Rai Eri). Monti Buzzetti will continue to collaborate with the center for the book and reading taking on the position of president of the new scientific council, which has settled simultaneously with a three -year mandate.
