Geely Auto is about to arrive in Italia. The confirmation has come in these hours and is the result of a partnership between the Geely group, one of the main players of the Chinese automotive industry, e Jameel Motorsa Saudi company that already deals with the distribution of Geely products in various European and Asian markets. Let’s find out all the details on the project.
A new protagonist
Geely Auto is already a reference point of the global four -wheeled market and now aims to carve out its space also in Italy, thanks to the partnership with Jameel Motors, who will operate in Italy with the division Jameel Motors Italiajust constituted. The operations for the arrival of the first models have already started. The goal, for the near future, is to introduce two cars quickly. The first will be the EX5 (Note in some markets such as E5).
It is a Electric SUV which aims to meet the requests of motorists looking for a vehicle capable of guaranteeing a guide completely to zero emissions and, at the same time, the possibility of offering so much space on board, thanks also to its 4.6 meters in length. The car should arrive in a single configuration, as regards the engine, with a 218 HP power unit and 320 Nm of driving torque, and with two battery options, one 49 kWh and one 60 kWh.
The second model of Geely Auto will, however, be a SUV hybridwith Plug-in system. This model, which does not yet have a name (but could be an evolution of the current Galaxy Starship 7), will be almost 4.8 meters long and can count on an 18.4 kWh battery, guaranteeing about 111 kilometers of autonomy in zero -emission mode. In the past, the Chinese house has been combined with Maserati, a brand that Stellantis does not intend to sell.
Marco Santucci will lead Jameel Motors Italia, manager who recently was driving Jaguar Land Rover Italy. In a statement reported by Ansa, Santucci underlines: “With the avant -garde technology of Geely Auto and the approach to the Jameel Motors client, we are in the ideal position to bring real value to the market. Stay flexible and open to change will be the key to guaranteeing future success and generating a positive impact for customers and the sector“.
Recall that Geely Auto is already active In over 80 countries in the world and distributes, every year, More than 2 million vehicles (in 2024 a total of 2.17 million was reached). In Italy, the company has existed for a couple of years with the opening of Geely Innovation Design Center in Milan, part of a network of research and development centers distributed throughout Europe. The company also has a strategic collaboration with Renault.
The debut is imminent
The time of arrival on the Italian Geely Auto market will not be long. Jameel Motors, in fact, aims to start the launch of the first models by the end of 2025. The timing could change according to the model but, in any case, already in the coming months the company should return to be talked about with new ads related to the start of the marketing phase on the Italian market.
